There has been an increase of 164% in searches for kitchens made with natural/organic materials such as real wood. It also applies to colour scheme with neutral tones becoming favourable, lot’s of light and airy shades to open up the room. A great way to work this theme is the simple addition of plants, they work great with wooden worktops and cabinets, adding life to the space. The Eco trend is a great way to rework the classic country kitchen where you can combine a rustic feel with natural and green accents.


Research has shown that there has been an increase of 128% in people searching for Moroccan-themed decor, including Moroccan tiles and splash-backs. Key features of a Moroccan kitchen is intricate geometric shapes and cool colour schemes. Mosaic wallpaper and tiles look great when incorporated into a traditional kitchen and work well with accessories such as gold metal lights and wooden cabinets.


Think dusty pale pinks and blues with beautiful gold accents, pastel is set to be big in 2018. Don’t worry, we don’t mean a kitchen that looks like candy floss, just subtle hints to warm a room up and create little pops of colour. In addition to this, bright white tiles are being favoured with this trend, offering a beautiful contrast to the colour. Gold accessories such as cabinet handles and taps work well with pastel and create a very scandi style, modern look.


From rose golds to bronzes, metallic elements are becoming more and more popular. This trend can be incorporated in so many ways from pendant hanging lights to small accessories for the countertop. Research shows that there had been an increase of 235% on searches for gold kitchen accessories which shows how much the trend has grown over the last year.
